How do you get a 1 1/2 year old to take medicine???

Alright everyone i am having a time and half trying to get Avery to take her antibiotic medicine..and am getting really frustrated with it..she is a VERY stubborn little girl..i think we will have our hands full when she gets older:)) Well i have tried to take it will a spoonful of sugar but she dont like the grainy stuff in her mouth..and then we have tried blowing in her face to make her swallow well she just hold's it in her cheek..we have tried her head all the way back with holding her cheeks in to make her swallow..and we have tried giving it mixed with food or liquid but she picks it up and then wont finish eating or drinking..The mucinex that we are suppose to be giving her to well that wasnt going so well so i found it in the melt aways well she doesnt like them either..she spits them out one little white pebble at a time:)) so how is she suppose to get better if she doesnt get any medicine in her....so i am really open to all suggestions from anybody:)))!!!!!

Figured I would let you know--My little sister Benita has Down's Syndrome and I remember her having to take some kind of medicine in applesauce and she was always good about that...but then again, does Avery like the texture of applesauce? Good luck!

I've heard that if you put it in chocolate pudding they'll eat it right down. Thats what we used to do to give Shane his medicine. Good luck:)

I wish she liked chocolate pudding but she dont like that thickness in her mouth or somthing bc she dont like pudding..ive tried different flavors..and she picks up the flavor of her medicine in her applesauce bc then she wont eat it and she usually eats applesauce.

Darah does really well with medicine...I do have to put it on a spoon and not a syringe though and let her watch a movie. I keep the movie paused until she takes her medicine and tell her "once you take your medicine, you can watch your movie" and that works. Connor, on the other hand...it takes two people.
